Submissions should be sent either in the body of an email, as an attachment (Word 6.0 or earlier or text format) to an email or on a 3.5 inch diskette to: Graduate Research LLC, 2917 East Manchester Drive, Tucson, Arizona, 85716.

Hard copy manuscripts (i.e. on paper) will not be accepted for publication and will not be returned to the author.  To avoid disappointment, do not send hard copy manuscripts, please.

Inquiries may be sent via email to the editor or call (520) 318-9946 during normal business hours (Mountain Standard Time).

Accepted manuscripts will become the property of Graduate Research in Nursing and Graduate Research LLC. All authors must sign a Copyright Transfer and Warranty Agreement which must accompany the submission.  This does not mean that you give up your right to any future developments based on the manuscript.

In their submission, all authors must disclose any interest (commercial or financial) they may have in any product or service that is the subject of their study.  They must also disclose the source of any support or funding (monetary or material) they have received for the study.

Submission Guidelines Graduate Research in Nursing Research for Nursing Practice
Editorial Focus The focus of this journal is to publish original nursing research and other scholarly work by graduate students in nursing in a timely, easy-to-read, and accessible manner.

Well written class papers with information that would be useful to other graduate students in nursing are suitable as are research proposals, abstracts and research project reports.  If you have any questions about what you can submit, contact the editor.

The focus of this journal is to publish original nursing research, articles and case studies relevant to nursing practice settings and to do so in a timely, easy-to-read, and accessible manner.
.
Peer Review The editorial review board will review all published articles. Reviews will be published along with articles. Students, faculty and nurses as a whole are also encouraged to participate in the review process through questions, comments, and suggestions for authors.  This process will help our graduate students in their development of new nursing knowledge.

In addition to tables and graphic depictions of results, authors are free to submit their data (within limitations of space) in a separate file, or make data available for other researchers to share.  The latter is recommended to avoid copyright complications.

The editorial review board will review all published articles. Reviews will be published along with articles. In addition, on-line peer review and feedback will promote interaction over research findings, sharing of findings, -  even data -, and will bring the practical relevance of research into sharper focus for practicing nurses.
Acceptance for Publication Although we maintain and encourage high quality standards and expectations, our focus in GRN  is not so much on the research process itself, - except in the case of methodology papers, -  as on research findings and their usefulness to nurses and graduate students in nursing.

It is our intention to encourage, not limit the dissemination of findings.  Therefore, all suitable work submitted will be published.  Authors will be notified of acceptance by email within 5 days .

Please see our publication calendar for deadlines and publication dates.

Although we maintain and encourage high quality standards and expectations, our focus in RNP is not on the research process itself, as much as on research findings and their usefulness to nurses.

It is our intention to encourage, not limit the sharing of knowledge to the world of nursing.

Please see our publication calendar for deadlines and publication dates.

Language Articles from all parts of the world are welcomed, but must be submitted in English. Articles from all parts of the world are welcomed, but must be submitted in English
Purpose The purpose of GRN's relatively simple submission process is to facilitate the sharing of graduate student work and encourage students to begin to submit their work for publication. By seeing their work online and receiving feedback students will hopefully attempt submission of other work to the more traditional nursing research journals.  We encourage instructors to include submission to GRN as a course requirement for their students. The goal is to publish site based, original research about nursing and nursing interventions in a way that is readily understood and useful to practicing nurses
Authors Students at masters, doctoral and post-doctoral levels are encouraged to submit original articles. Nurses working in or researching practice settings are invited to submit articles which they do not intend to publish elsewhere.

  • Stay well within the suggested number of pages for each type of article.  Remember, you are writing for the web.  People want to see concise information as well as detail.  Therefore, make sure you leave out unnecessary language.
  • Your title should reflect the subject matter as closely as possible.  Avoid long, two-part titles. (Please....!)
  • Take advantage of the medium by including visuals: graphs, photos (make sure you have signed permission of any people in the photos, we will ask for a copy for our files).  You may consider including your raw data if the data can fit on a single page on the screen.  You can also make your data available with permission after direct contact with you. The latter is recommended to avoid copyright complications.
  • Be consistent in how you report physical measures and statistics.  For example, if you report means with standard deviation or temperature in degrees" F(C)" in one place, be sure you do it throughout.  If you find statistical significance, report the probability level.
